I am super excited to be linking up again with Doodle Bug Teaching for 5 for Friday! Five for Friday is a fun teacher linky where you post 5 random things about today or this week.
Here are 5 random things from my week!
This week I was nominated by the super sweet Amy of My Bright Bunch for the one lovely blog award! Thank you so very much for nominating me! Be sure to check her fabulous blog out!
I am still a little shocked to receive this award! I am still a newbie when it comes to the blogging world. The friends and connections I have made through this blogging experience have been amazing. I have really enjoyed participating in all the blogging link ups over the last few weeks and am looking forward to many more:) I am collaborating with some fantastic bloggers on a top secret project coming soon!
I am nominating several amazing teacher bloggers for this award! Go check out their blogs!
I nominate Erin at Kindergarten Dragons
Diana at My Day in K
Rachael at Sweet Sweet Primary
Lauren at Polka Dots and Pals
This week I had to take my beautiful daughter to see about a problem with her thumb. She has had a small knot on it for a few weeks that we were told is a ganglionic cyst. She woke up Monday and her thumb was HUGE! So 2 MRI's later and about 10 hours in a doctor's office we are scheduling surgery this summer. We are having to see a hand specialist because she plays the piano:) Of course she wants to wait until August so we can go to the beach ha! To be 20 and have not a care in the world!
I did a lot of shopping this week! I got great deals at the Bath & Body Works semi annual sale...yes I spent way to much money and they know me by name now but hey when you got coupons you got to use them right?!?!? I am definitely stocked up on candles, hand soaps and bubble bath. Picked up some make up as well from my favorite store. I could spend forever in there. They have EVERYTHING!
I have enjoyed getting to spend quality time with my friends so far this summer! During the school year everything seems so hectic that I only get to see my non teacher friends for short periods of time so it's so nice in the summer to be able to hang out with them several times during the week! Several of my close friends have had babies in the last few months so loading up on baby love has been a wonderful bonus:) True, good friends are hard to find so hold on tight and let them know how much you appreciate them!
This week I joined in on a fun summer linky with some fabulous fellow teacher bloggers called Tell all Tuesday! It was so much fun reading about other teachers! If you didn't link up with us you definitely should link up this Tuesday! Click on the picture to head to My Day in K's blog to read about this link up!
Here are were my 3 "truths"
1. Public speaking freaks me out! I get so nervous my neck turns red and I talk a million miles an hour! I have to constantly tell my self to breath and slow down. This is true! Speaking in front of grown ups makes me so nervous! I have to tell myself to breath and slow down. It is getting better after leading several PD sessions and presenting at a few back to school conferences:)
2. I am OCD about organization at home. Everything has to be in it's place at all times. This one is the LIE!! I am so organized at school that sometimes the house gets left out! I am thankful for my daughter who picks up the slack for me at home!
3. I originally went to school to be a nurse. This is true! I wanted to be a nurse and a teacher, however, my love for children and education won out over the nursing. Plus I don't know about handling needles!!
There were several people who guessed the lie. If you chose #2 in the comment section of the Tell all Tuesday blog post email me at chevronandcenters@gmail.com and let me know the product you would like for free from my TPT store! I am looking forward to next weeks link up!
Hop over to Doodle Bug Teaching to read about other bloggers and link up to join in on the fun!
Aw Jill, I am touched! Thank you so much for the nomination. I just love this little blogging community. I am so glad I took the plunge and started. I hope your daughter's thumb is OK. It sounds like you are taking good care of her and she is in good hands with the doctors. Thanks again for linking up with us for Tell all Tuesday. It was great to get to know everyone a little bit better. I hope you join in the fun again this week! Have a great weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, dear!!! Your nomination means so much! Your centers are A.W.E.S.O.M.E., and I am so excited to start using some of them next year! I love all that I have learned by blogging with fabulous teachers like you! It really helps broaden our scope so that we are not stuck in our own school district! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the nomination, I've never been nominated before for a blog award! You're so sweet! I'm so glad I got to meet you through these link ups and all! I hope your daughter gets back to feeling like herself very soon, I know how frustrating it can be to go through things like that!! I'm so jealous you got to the Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale!! Not being able to walk means I've missed it for the first time in YEARS!! I hope your summer rocks out loud!!!
ReplyDeleteWarmest Wishes,
Erin

Hi, Jill!
ReplyDeleteI just love your blog! You needed all of that stuff from Bath and Body Works. You deserve it! Do you find you spend more money over summer than during the school year?
