New unit!!!

Superheroes are my theme for my class this year. So what better way to start the first full week of school than with this Superheroes unit. I finally finished it and posted it on TPT:) I am so excited to use it with my class in a few weeks. I usually tell my kinders that they have a job at school just like me. My job is to plan, create and teach them. Their job is to work and learn. Everyday I will ask them what their job is and they will say to work and learn! Well this year I am going to change it up a little. We are going to talk about super powers of kindergarteners. Their super powers are learning and great behavior. I am implementing oral writing this year as well(I will post about this later). So when I ask them in the mornings what their super powers are they will say- Our super powers are learning and great behavior:) I am looking forward to meeting my new group of super kinders!! I am hoping for a wonderful year with great kids and amazing learning!

First unit complete:)

I finally finished my first unit for TPT! I have made several things but this was definitely the biggest project so far. I can't wait to use these center activities with my new kinders soon!! I am still a little shocked that summer is almost over! Where did the time go???? I have been to the school several times and worked in my room. Don't Stop the Train

This was one of the themes at the WBT conference this summer.  So many times throughout the day we stop instruction for varies reasons and the result is we lose our kiddos.  I made this banner to remind myself through out the day to keep the train moving! Whole Brain Teaching gives you so many strategies to use in the classroom. It also encourages active participation from the kiddos. I am hoping that this year they will be so busy using mirrors, gestures and teach ok that they won't have time to derail the train!

Changes changes!!

  Hello all:) 

  Sometimes change is good!! I am happy to announce a new blog name and URL. I have several irons in the fire right now and needed them all to match up. I have been blogging to share my whole brain teaching journey as well as earn certification points for a few months now.
   Recently I have opened a Teachers Pay Teachers store. The name of the TPT store is Chevron and centers. I didn't want to run 2 blogs(let's be honest I know I couldn't manage that!!) so I decided to create the best of both worlds. So here it is!!! The new blog is Chevron and Centers- WBT style!!
  I will post about my WBT adventures as well as freebies and updates from my TPT store. Thank you for going on this adventure with me!!!! I am excited about the future.
