Tell All Tuesday 2.0 -Summer Recharge

It's Tuesday in the blogging world so that means it time for Tell All Tuesday with the amazing My Day in K and Teach, Talk Inspire! It is hard to believe that this is my last full week of summer vacation. We report back on August 4th and the kiddos return on August 11th. Summer time is a great way for teachers to relax and recharge. This weeks link up is all about recharging! Who doesn't love shopping?!? Especially those Target Dollar Spots! I have done a lot of shopping this summer. Yes there have been several trips to Target..but I have also been to T.J Maxx, Ross, IKEA, and Home Goods to name a few! Oh PJ days how I love you! PJ days are pretty high on my favorite things about summer list! I enjoy hanging around the house with nowhere to be except on the couch binge watching something on Netflix or Hulu. During the school year there is no time for binge watching or I would be one grouchy teacher ha! I enjoy creating things for my classroom! Summertime is perfect for creating because there is so much more TIME! I am also a planner so I also spend some of that precious summer time planner out my school year. Tell All Tuesday 2.0-Summer Snapshots

I am so excited to be linking up with My Day in K and Teach Talk Inspire for Tell all Tuesday 2.0!!! I loved this linky last summer and am so glad they brought it back! This week is all about summer snapshots! Those of you that know me know that I LOVE the beach! Summer would not be summer without a trip or two to Orange Beach! It truly is my happy place. I always come back relaxed! This summer I also got to go to IKEA with some of the BEST teachers I know! We had so much fun and I spent way to much money!!! If you haven't been you are missing out! Tell All Tuesday- A Goal, A Wish and a Dream

I am super sad this is our last Tell All Tuesday!!!!! I am looking forward to seeing what Diana and Jayme come up with next though:) I have very much enjoyed these weekly link ups and getting to know more about so many of my blogging friends. This community is truly amazing!

This week is about sharing a goal, a wish and a dream for our school year. 

My goal for this year is to incorporate more play into our day. I am so happy that the pendulum is finally swinging back in the right direction. I have carved out some time each day for choice centers. I have also spent more money than I should on things for them! I am interested to see how this time affects my classroom. 

My wish is for my kiddos' parents to invest in their child's education. Parents are our children's first teachers and if they value school and teach their kiddos that school is important it will transfer over to them. I really encouraged my parents today at meet the teacher to talk with their kids about their day, ask them questions about what they learned that day and be excited when they say "hey mom, did you know I'm a mathematician?" I also told them we are a team and we can not succeed at educating their children without working together:)

My dream for this school year is to write and receive a grant for my classroom. I would LOVE to be able to purchase some more technology for my classroom!

Tell All Tuesday- Dream Classroom

This week's edition of Tell all Tuesday hosted by the fabulous My Day in K and Teach Talk Inspire is all about our dream classroom! Admit it you have a secret Pinterest board with all this pictures of your dream classroom. I do!! This link up is a fun way to dream big when it comes to your perfect classroom!

I am really loving my classroom right now! I recently painted it as well as created all new alphabet, numbers and other things for it! There is always room for improvement though right????
In my dream classroom I would love to have lots of windows and a classroom that is actually square and not pie shaped ha! I would also want 2 smartboards, ipads for every child as well as computers that work...every time we need them too!! Now we can move on to the other stuff in my dream classroom!

 I would love to have a whole group are with these crates! I love it!

I love this teacher chair! How comfy does it look!

And who could post about their dream classroom with out this pic from Kinder Kraze! I love the color combinations of this classroom!

Look at that class library!!! I thought I was organized but she has me beat!!

  

If you know me at all you know I have a love for all things chevron! (My TPT store name inspiration ha!) I love this carpet and will have one like it some day! This little area is so fun!! 

I am absolutely in love with this little reading area from A Traveled Teacher. Can it be any cuter!!!!!!!! Those polka dot chairs are calling out to me...buy us ...buy us!!! Plus there is a little lamp and chevron rug again! This area looks so cozy and inviting I would love to have it in my classroom!

Storage is always limited in my classroom this would be a great way to add some storage and also give the kiddos a place to sit and work!

Tell All Tuesday-7-14-15

It is time for Tell All Tuesday with My Day in K and Teach Talk Inspire! This week's topic is all about our life as a reality show! These two ladies make Tuesdays so much fun! 

I am going to be honest with you I really struggled coming up with a name for my reality show! Who would've thought this would be hard right?!?!? So after racking my brain way to late into the night I decided that if my life was a reality show it would be called... Dancing in the Rain!

 This is one of my favorite quotes!  My life has certainly not been perfect but everything that has happened in my life has lead me to this place. I have a wonderful family, fabulous friends, and a career I love!

Life is a learning experience. I tend to be one that has to learn things the hard way ha! I can be stubborn and a bit hard headed sometimes...ok maybe a lot of times. I am thankful for the good and bad things that have happened in my life. Through those times I found my strength and my voice. I am thankful for this life and wouldn't trade it for  the world!!

So if my life was a reality show it would chronicle the day to day ups and downs of my fabulously imperfect life. Viewers would get to see glimpses of my real life. Sometimes things go great and let's face it sometimes it doesn't. It's not about the good and bad times in your life it is how you handle those situations that make you the person you are:)

Tell All Tuesday- Top Ten List

It's time for this week's Tell All Tuesday! This is one of my favorite link ups hosted my My Day in K and Teach Talk Inspire! It has been so fun reading and learning about all of you! This week's link up is the Top Ten things teaching has taught us Letterman style! I always loved his top ten lists!!!

Number 10-I spend a lot of time in the floor and with little kiddos being comfortable is important! Flats and maxis are my best teaching friends! 

Number 9-Training your bladder...We all know you can't leave a room of angels to run to the bathroom anytime you want! You know when you get back one of them will be hanging from the ceiling and another one will be rolling on the floor and you'll be lucky if that's all that happens!!

Number 8- Only teachers can speak each others language! People who are not in education do not know what we do. They don't understand our target dollar spot addiction or the fact that we spend days and sometimes weeks in the summer to set up our classrooms. 

Number 7- Classroom management is the key to learning in your classroom! Once a child has learned to control their body then they are ready to learn. It is just as important to teach rules and procedures as it is to teach reading and writing maybe even more so!

Number 6- Those kiddos in your classroom that act out in a variety of ways are often those kids who need the most love from you. They just have a difficult time expressing that! It is important to connect with them and find out what makes them tick! 

Number 5- Plan, plan, plan and when you think you are planned plan some more! Things you think will take forever they will finish before you can sit down at your teacher table and things you think will take them a short amount of time will take them forever! Somethings will go beautifully and somethings will bomb badly! Always have a backup plan!!!

Number 4- Caffeine is and important part of your day! I have a poster in my classroom that says "This classroom runs on lots of love and Diet Pepsi"!

Number 3- Learning is important it is why children go to school but it should also be fun! Getting the kiddos involved in planning will help them take ownership and enjoy the process!

Number 2- Loving what you do will make all the difference. Let's face it there are days when you leave school dreading having to go back the next day! A difficult day or class can make our jobs hard  but if we truly love teaching we will get up the next day and go right back to work:)

Number 1- the most important thing I have learned from teaching is that my kiddos usually teach me way more than I teach them.  Children are pretty amazing and are the reason we teach:)

Tell All Tuesday- Summer Flashback

I really love these Tuesday Tell all link ups with My Day in K and Teach Talk Inspire! Today's tell all is summer flashbacks.

Let's head on back to the good ole days when my baby was really a baby!! As you all know I love the beach. When I was a little girl my family went every summer. Sometimes just my parents, my brother and I and sometimes my grandparents aunts, uncles and cousins would come. I will cherish those memories forever. So when I had a daughter of my own I wanted to start that tradition with her. She didn't have a love for the beach right away!! She hated the sand and was scared of the water HA! As she grew up a little bit she came to have the same love for the beach as her mamma thank God!

We also spent a lot of time over the summer with family and friends. Here's a little flashback from a cookout at the lake! The kids loved their popsicles! Look how little they are! 2 of these kiddos have graduated high school, 2 will be seniors and 2 will be sophomores! Times flies to quickly!
