Sunday Scoop 8-23-15

It is Sunday so it is time for the Sunday scoop with the Teaching Trio! I have missed the last couple of weeks since school started back! I am still trying to find the balance with my kinders and social media ha!! Anyone else with me??? I know I can't be alone! We are starting to settle down as we get into our routines. I really love my kiddos and am looking forward to a GREAT year. I plan on doing a blog post on our first few weeks very soon!! Until then here is my latest edition of the Sunday Scoop!!

Have to

1. Grab a few things from the grocery store for lunched next week!

2. I have one more load of laundry!!! Do you hear the angels singing hallelujah? I sure do!

3. I have made a new choice center board and need to laminate the cards so my kinders can start using it tomorrow.

Hope to:

1. I am really hoping to get ahead on my lesson plans! We will wrap up Pete the cat this week. My kinder have LOVED LOVED LOVED Pete! We will start Nursery rhymes next so I need to get jumped started on the planning! I like to have at least 2 weeks completely planned ahead that way I can some what keep my sanity ha!!

2. I am hoping to catch a nap today!!! 

Happy to:

I am super happy to sort through my thrift store finds! I have found so many great things for my kinders choice centers. This year I decided to go with my teacher gut and put some play back into my classroom!!I have 45 minutes in my schedule for choice centers! Fortunately my admins and state superintendent are on the same page!! So I have been on a search for things for my kiddos to play with. I have found great stuff and spent very little money!! I will post pictures soon of my kiddos in action during choice time.

Sunday Scoop 8-2-15

AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! I go back to school tomorrow!!!!! I am super excited about meeting my new kinders and putting a face to the names that I have written or printed on everything in my classroom! I am also sad that summer is over! This is officially my last Sunday as a pj wearing, netflix binging, no make up wearing and hair in a bun teacher ha! So here is what my Sunday looks like:) A big shout out to the Teaching Trio for this link up!

Have to:

I have to cut out my huge stack of laminating. It has been sitting there taunting me all morning so I will tackle it this afternoon! I also have to go to the grocery store to buy stuff for lunches. The last thing I have to do is laundry boo!!! As you know laundry is my least favorite household chore! 

Hope to:

I hope to get a new outfit for meet the teacher!! I get to meet my new kinders on Tuesday so shopping is on the agenda for today:) I also hope to plan out the first few days and first full week of kindergarten. I finally finished my classroom and all my meet the teacher stuff. I can not think about plans until my room is done .I have always been like that:) I did score some potato head at Walmart yesterday for $5 a piece so they will definitely be a choice center!!!

Happy to:

I am happy to purchase several....(ok way more than several but who's counting it's a TPT sale) things from my wish list during the TPT sale Monday and Tuesday! What a great way to celebrate my first week back!!!

Sunday Scoop 7-26-15

       

Well peeps we are entering my last week of summer vacation! That's right is all over but the crying!! All kidding aside I am sad to see summer go but excited about meeting my new group of kinders. 

Since this is the last Sunday in July I thought this quote was perfect ha! Here is my latest edition of the Sunday scoop! This fabulous link up is hosted by the Teaching Trio.

Have to:
1. I have to finish my nursery rhyme pack this week!! I know with the craziness of the first week of school I would never get it finished.
2/3.  I plan on enjoying my last week of summer vacation by sleeping in and having SEVERAL pj days!!!!  Does anyone else wish they could wear pj's to school everyday?!?! I think it would make better teachers! I think someone should write the superintendent and ask? Okay I know I'm only dreaming!! (If we can't even get a raise I'm sure wearing pj's to school is out too)

Hope to:
1.  My daughter wants to go see the movie Paper Town this week. I'm hoping it will be good! Has anyone seen it?
2. It is super hot here and it will be nice to enjoy some pool time before school starts as well!

Happy to:
I love girls nights!! I am looking forward to getting together will some girlfriends for a kid free night out!

Sunday Scoop 7-19-15

Sunday oh Sunday why do you have to come around so quickly! I swear it should still be June instead of half way to August!!!!!!!

Since it's Sunday it is time for the Sunday scoop link up with the Teaching Trio! I really love this link up it's a great way to get myself organized for the day and week ahead:)

Have to:

1. I get to pick up my class roll on Tuesday! I am sooooooo excited. I love reading their names. It also makes the fact that school starts in 2 weeks more real because I will actually have their names! I make labels for everything so I can get a jump on that part of my to do list too:)

2. For some reason I can not resist the periscope whistle! When it goes off I have to check my phone and watch the live video it's not the same experience watching the replay!! I can't get anything done and my phone is always dead! PLEASE tell me I am not alone!!!!!!!!!!!

3. I have got to wash my car! Inside and out it is looking  pretty rough! Plus a rock hit my windshield and I need to have the windshield replaced...thanks Mr. Truck that flew past me:(

Hope to:

1. I am hoping that I can finish setting up my classroom this week so that I can completely relax next week...yea right I know I won't but the thought is nice right?!?!?! As soon as it is done I'll do a periscope reveal...if you can't beat them join them:)

2. I want to start reading Learn like a Pirate this week. I have finished my other books and was saving this one for last!

Happy to:
 I am happy to get a mani and pedi this week. It is long over due and I can't wait. I'm thinking Tuesday after I get my class roll:)

Sunday Scoop 7-12-15

 It is time for this week's edition of the Sunday Scoop!I love linking up with the Teaching Trio for this fun linky!

Have to:

1. I have to/need to finish up my presentation for the tech conference I am presenting at tomorrow!! I have had it mostly ready for the last week but with all the periscope, TPT Vegas and #findyourtribe awesomeness going on I haven't finished it! So that is what I will be doing today!

2. I have to stay away from the Dollar Spot at Target this week! Anyone willing to stage an intervention??? 

3. I need to dye my hair!!! My wisdom sparkles AKA gray hairs are making an appearance and they need to be covered up:) My mom didn't get a single gray hair until she was 50 why am I getting them and I am not even 40 yet?!?!?!? Maybe it's the job ha!

Hope to:

1. I am sure by now you have all heard of the periscope revolution that Ashley and Angie started! I have really enjoyed putting a face and voice to all the wonderful teachers I am following!  I was challenged on Friday to post a video and I accepted. It was so scary, nerve racking and fun all at the same time!  I would like to post another video of my classroom for back to school. I am hoping to go live with you all sometime this week! You can find me on periscope @chevronncenters. If you haven't joined periscope you need to so it yesterday!!!

2. I hope to finish up a unit I have been working on forever and begin a new one. I wish I could work on more than one product at a time but I can not! I have to completely finish one before I can start another one.

Happy to:

I am happy to get to spend some time with friends this week. As the summer winds down I want to take full advantage of the extra time to hang out with them!!

Sunday Scoop 7-5-15

 I can not brag enough on Kristin from Teaching in a Nutshell for my AMAZING blog design! It is perfect and more that I expected. Have to:

1. Finish up my TPT masterpiece for this week's challenge! For some reason I can't get it done!!!!!!

2. Housework-yuck my least favorite thing to do but somebody's got to do it right?!?!

3. I have to take my mind off the fact that I am not going to be at TPT Vegas this year!! I am hoping I can go next year. I will be sitting here green with envy of all you fabulous peeps that are getting to attend. I will enjoy the experience through your pictures and posts! I hope everyone going has an amazing time.....please come back and share with those left behind:)

Hope to:

1. I hope to take a nap today! After all the 4th of July celebrating I need one!

2. I hope to finish reading a book on Project based learning so I can start reading Learn like a Pirate next!

Sunday Scoop

I can not believe another Sunday has come and almost gone! Time needs to slow down a little. I am enjoying participating in all these fun link ups this summer. I am linking up with the Teaching Trio to bring you my Sunday Scoop!

Have to:

1. My parents will celebrate 40 years of marriage on the 25th of this month! My sister-in-law and I are planning a surprise party for them! My mom doesn't love surprises and should have been an FBI detective so it has been a job trying to keep this a secret!

2. I have been working on several things for TPT and can't seem to get this last one done! I am hoping to finish it this week!!!

3. I need a haircut like no one knows!! I also need to color it but am going to wait a till it's a little closer to school starting:)

Hope to:

1. I am planning on working in my classroom this week. My principal emailed that the floors had been done so we could get in the school now.  Since I painted my classroom at the beginning of the summer my classroom is completely bare! I need to rehang everything. Plus I am going to take advantage and rearrange the furniture in my room as well. 

2. I am looking forward to spending some time with a great friend I haven't gotten to see in a while this week!!

Happy to:

I will be planning our beach trip! We will be going in the next few weeks! Hopefully that will take my mind off the fact that I will not be going to TPT Vegas this year!!

Sunday Scoop

Today we celebrate fathers! Happy father's day to the most amazing man and father! My dad is my hero and has always been there for our family no matter what! I love, admire and respect him more that he will ever know!

Have to:

I have PD this week for a new assessment called KEA Gold that our system will adopt soon so we are piloting it this year. It is suppose to be a more complete assessment of the whole child that sounds great. I'll let you know later ha! 

I am currently working on a few new things to add to my TPT store and hoping to finish them up this week. 

I also have to catch up on laundry...if you know me you know I absolutely LOATH laundry! The struggle is real over here!!!!!! I tell my friends all the time I'm going to hire a person to just come and wash our clothes!!! 

Hope to:

I am looking forward to spending time with my girlfriends this week as well as getting back on track with my diet and exercise.  I have several things hanging in my closet that are mocking me:)

I am SUPER excited that the very talented Teaching in a Nutshell is going to be working on my new blog design. I have played around with the design myself but have finally taken the plunge to have it done. I found the perfect design and can not wait to see it when it is finished!
